RECOMMENDATION:
Council Receive and Accept the 2017 Annual General Plan and Housing Element Progress Report.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
Cities are required by California law (CA Gov. Code Section 65400) to annually report on the status of its General Plan and progress in its implementation. This annual report is to be reviewed by the City’s legislative body (City Council) and provided to the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR) and to the State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). HCD has various forms to document the status of the Housing Element to HCD. Staff has prepared an annual report for 2017 and has used the suggested forms (see attached).
